It seems the garden is on a quest for beauty each summer. The blooms grow bigger, taller, more colorful on that journey to unfold and splash into splendor. With all of the rain we have been having, most of the blooms are thriving and the quest has been supported by plenty of moisture.
Gladioli stretch out and up, reaching for the blue of the sky. Tall and lanky, they burst forth with petals galore.

ReplyDeleteOver here in London my garden is getting very dry, I have to water every other evening, it is a lot of work. I have decided to install a soaker hose this autumn even though a summer like we have now doesn't happen very often. I am enjoying the good weather, we have waited a long time.

ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful pictures. I love Gladiolus, but in my garden they are not yet that far, I cannot even see the buds, I have to wait a couple of weeks. The photo of the Clematis seedhead is just stunning.

ReplyDeleteOoh, what gorgeous photos! The shots with the water droplets are especially lovely. Do you have to dig up your gladiolus in the fall, or do they winter over in your area? I'm so lazy when it comes to that. So I admire gladiolus and dahlias in other people's yards. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful flowers you have in your garden it must be a wonderful place to be at the moment.We in the UK have had a heatwave for the last 4 or 5 weeks so everything is very dry and the flowers and I are struggling!

ReplyDeleteLooks like your garden is getting lots of rain. I am a big fan of hardy hibiscus in the summer garden. The saw fly has done a job on ours but they are still showing their big faces. I love the seed heads of clematis too...beautiful capture with the raindrops! Happy GBBD!

ReplyDeleteYour quest is found in the beauty of your photos...I had a few surprise glads this year as I planted only the hardy ones but did not see them...instead glads from last summer that never bloomed have popped up in a few areas.
